Leaders of the ruling coalition proudly raised 8 million shillings to empower women — because apparently, when politicians aren’t arguing in rallies, they’re empowering someone somewhere.
The cash is meant for women’s groups doing business, table banking, and agribusiness — basically, anything that sounds “bottom-up.”
They said it’s all part of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, or as locals now call it, BETA-testing promises.
Still, hats off to the women — may the millions multiply faster than political speeches!
